Welcoming the Fall

In South Carolina, we welcome the fall in shorts and flip flops.  But the lack of chill in the air doesn't stop us from raking up piles of leaves, rolling down hills, and breathing in some crisp balmy 78 degree fall air.  Earlier this week we had a "blustery" day and it got us all in the mood.  I love the fall and all of my children apparently inherited the same gene.

Tonight, we sandwiched a warm dinner of carrot soup (fallish, right?) in between hours out of doors.  I loved being outside with the kids...  There's just something about cool(er) evening air and what it does to the psyche.  Watching them roll down our hill (er, bump) in the back yard flooded me with so many memories of being their age.  It is such a joy for me to give them the gift my parents gave me - wonderful times together just being a family.

Just the Six of Us

Six may seem like a lot but only to others. It is who we are. Some people like peace and quiet (who doesn't?), but the quiet we lack we gain all the more in giggles, feet scampering, I love yous, tickles, tiny voices singing. Being a mother to these four amazing little people and a wife to the most incredible person I know is a blessing that can't be put into words; I am living my dream.
