Birthday Boy

He's a paradox, of sorts.  Very much all-boy.  Far stronger than his sisters, more adventurous, definitely more interested in anything round that bounces... But he's also such an affectionate, loving, gentle child.  He gives hugs so freely, is largely non-aggressive (though he has his moments), and shows concern and compassion for others at quite an early age.  I could never have dreamed that having a boy would be this much fun.  He brings an energy to our family that is a blessing to experience.  The girls dote on him like you wouldn't believe.  I tell everyone he has four - soon to be - five mothers... And he loves nearly every minute of it... Yes, he's all boy ;).

My little K-k,

I just look at you and my heart melts.  You are such a precious addition to our family.  I think sometimes about the man that you will become and I'm already getting glimpses of who that might be.  It's amazing to me that you have these instincts, for lack of a better word, that your strength is an asset to others.  Whenever you see me carrying something heavy, automatically you put your toys down and rush over to "give me a hand".  You are also very compassionate.  When anyone is hurting, you're always there to rub a back or give a hug; I love that you care.  Music seems to bring you a great deal of comfort.  Though you cannot speak the ABC's yet, you "bah-bah-bah" out the tune on a daily basis.  And nothing other than music will calm your frazzled nerves when you're experiencing a grumpy day.

So far, you have been quite an easy toddler.  As long as you are not teething, you are pretty laid back.  Almost daily, you wake up and ask me if we are going "bye-bye".  You love to be on the go, socializing with anyone and everyone.  I would be lying if I didn't say everyone we pass tells me how adorable you are.  Of course, it doesn't hurt that you are hamming it up with your waves and "hellos" to them all.

You and your next-in-line sis have become thick as thieves lately.  You play and giggle like nothing else.  Truly, nothing brings me greater joy.  I love it that you two are already so close.  I pray it will be a very long-lasting friendship.

Kaden, you have made a place in our family and a definite mark.  We are all madly in love with you and can't get enough of your adorableness.  I'm so thankful we've had two years with you and I look forward to so many more.  I know that God is molding you every day to be His servant, a wonderful husband someday, and a beautiful soul.  Happy Birthday, Little Buddy.  And many, many more.

Love,

Mom-mom

Love the finger up the nose! He's adorable. Can't believe how big they are all getting. Glad you have a little cuddly one on the way. They get big way too fast!

Just the Six of Us

Six may seem like a lot but only to others. It is who we are. Some people like peace and quiet (who doesn't?), but the quiet we lack we gain all the more in giggles, feet scampering, I love yous, tickles, tiny voices singing. Being a mother to these four amazing little people and a wife to the most incredible person I know is a blessing that can't be put into words; I am living my dream.
