Family Day

Memorial Day fell in August this year... At least that's the way it felt here in South Carolina.  Each summer I say it, and each summer I mean it, "It wasn't this hot last summer!"  Geesh!  But, we weren't going to let the heat keep us from having a fun family day.  Together, with our sweet friend Jackie, we traveled to Murrel's Inlet near Myrtle Beach.  Brookgreen Gardens was our destination.  And it was well worth the trip (and the sweat)!
We visited a butterfly pavilion there.  After we got past the "butterfly snobs" at the entrance, we really enjoyed the peaceful walk through.  The kids had a couple butterflies land on them and enjoyed just watching so many in one place.  Too bad they wouldn't let us bring in a net.
There was a cute little farm path that took us by some horses, alligators, otter mommas, aviaries, billy goats, owls, and we even saw a beautiful white swan.
Ella and Gracyn got first prize for wrastling an alligator.
Seems Hannah wasn't so lucky.

Just the Six of Us

Six may seem like a lot but only to others. It is who we are. Some people like peace and quiet (who doesn't?), but the quiet we lack we gain all the more in giggles, feet scampering, I love yous, tickles, tiny voices singing. Being a mother to these four amazing little people and a wife to the most incredible person I know is a blessing that can't be put into words; I am living my dream.
